Thank you for choosing ASV.
Installation
------------
ASV does not have an installer application, as you may be used to while installing other software. This is because of our policy of not messing with the operating system. Virtually all installers write to Windows registry. ASV does not write to Windows registry. Also, ASV does not connect to internet, does not call home or send any information (however, if the preview window is open, SWF movie displayed in the Flash ActiveX may try to connect to internet).
As a side effect, you can run ASV from a USB pen drive (but not from read-only media such as a CD-ROM).
IMPORTANT:
You need your license files, sent to you separately, for installation.
For installation, please follow these steps:
1) Create a new folder, you can name it as 'ASV'.
2) Extract the ZIP file with ASV5.EXE to this folder.
3) Extract the ZIP file with your license files to this folder. (Your license files are named: ASV5.PKE and ASV5U.DLL).
4) You can now run ASV by double clicking on ASV5.EXE (The icon should be an orange eye)
5) If you are installing free ASV add-on tools, extract the ZIP file(s) to the same folder.
NOTE: ASV tools does not run stand alone. You can run them using the 'Tools' menu within ASV.
7) You can now drag a shortcut of ASV5.EXE to your desktop/Quick Launch Bar, or to your "Send To" folder.
In summary, for installation, extract/copy every file to a folder, and run ASV5.EXE.
Installation Troubleshooting
----------------------------
If ASV does not run when you double click on ASV5.EXE, make sure you have both of your license files in the same folder.
If ASV tools does not run when you double click on EXE files, this is normal. ASV tools only run from within ASV, using the tools menu.
